This was the aeolian Beech Cello when it was installed at the Waveney Sculpture Trail in the summer, 2018. I love this picture as it shows off this fantastic beech tree. Even if the wind wasn’t blowing it made people look up at it’s magnificence. It needed a good breeze from the south or south-west to make it drone and there were several. Along with the cello I installed my microtonal wind chimes. Three disks holding six chimes each rotated in the breeze to offer a variety of closely tuned banks of chimes. These created a varied thematic element to go with the thrumming of the cello and the rustle of the wind in the leaves.
